Western Gears Up to Beat Rancho Alamitos

Rodney Eason’s three touchdowns and 170 yards rushing led Western, which had no problems running all over Rancho Alamitos en route to a 35-14 nonleague victory Thursday night at Western High.
Eason carried the ball 15 times and scored on runs of 17 and 60 yards in the first half and added a 26-yard scoring dash in the third quarter that gave Western (3-0) a 28-7 lead.
Western quarterback Mike Hicks also had his way with the Rancho Alamitos defense, scrambling out of trouble all night and adding a nine-yard touchdown run.
David Gober rounded out the Western ground attack with one touchdown and 74 yards in 11 carries.
Daniel Green completed five of 13 passes for 67 yards and Maurice Garcia had four catches for 61 yards and one touchdown for the Vaqueros (2-1).
