City officials are in the process of interviewing candidates for the position of economic development manager. The successful applicant will earn a monthly salary of $5,206. The mid-management position was a last-minute addition to the $28.3-million budget for the 2000-01 fiscal year. Staff members expect to select a candidate by Oct. 5 for final approval by the city administrator and other department heads.
