KFOR Vows Response to Russian’s Killing

The commander of KFOR peacekeepers in Kosovo said a Russian soldier shot to death Wednesday was the first member of the international force to die in a military-style attack, and he vowed a “robust” response.
Paratrooper Sgt. Mikhail Shuitsev was killed when his unit came under fire, said Lt. Gen. Thorstein Skiaker.
The Russian government blamed the attack on ethnic Albanian guerrillas in Kosovo, a province of Serbia, Yugoslavia’s main republic.
