More Jail Time for Teen Who Terrorized School

PHOENIX — A 14-year-old boy jailed since October for holding a teacher and 32 students hostage at gunpoint was ordered Friday to spend six more weeks in jail and then be placed in a residential treatment facility for another year.
Maricopa County Superior Court Judge Stephen Gerst also gave the youth seven years of intensive probation for walking into a classroom at Pioneer Elementary School in suburban Glendale, Ariz., armed with a gun. The tense standoff that followed ended without injury.
