Northridge Sweeps Past Cal Poly

Cal State Northridge swept Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, 3-0 and 5-2, in a Big West Conference softball doubleheader Friday at Northridge.
Sarah Farnworth pitched a six-hitter in the opener, striking out four and walking none. Veronica Lopez had three hits for Northridge.
In the second game, Shawna Lane and Farnworth each had two hits for Northridge (24-19, 8-3 in conference play). Farnworth (18-11) allowed one earned run on six hits.
Cal Poly San Luis Obispo is 17-22, 3-8.
HIGH SCHOOL SOFTBALL
El Camino Real 4, Faith Baptist 1--Melissa Coogan (14-4) pitched a four-hitter, struck out eight and walked two for the Conquistadores in the Bronze Division semifinal of the Birmingham tournament.
Fiona Landers was two for two with one RBI for El Camino Real (14-4) and Christina Enea hit a two-run triple.
El Camino Real will play the winner of today’s semifinal between Kennedy and Calabasas in the Bronze Division championship game at 3 p.m. today at Hjelte Park in Encino.
COLLEGE BASEBALL
Cal Lutheran 4, La Verne 3--Aaron Dixon hit a two-run double to tie the score and scored on a balk by Bill Baldry in the ninth to give the Kingsmen a SCIAC victory at La Verne (14-17, 5-6).
The Kingsmen (20-9, 11-2) held the SCIAC lead.
