Ryan Jones hit his fifth home run of the season and Billy Martin had two hits, but the San Jose Giants defeated the Lancaster JetHawks, 3-1, in a California League game Friday night at San Jose.
Vance Cozier (3-2) pitched six scoreless innings for San Jose.

Lancaster catcher J.D. Closser was named California League player of the week. Closser, who is hitting .429, was 13 for 26 with 10 runs batted in in seven games.
