12-Year-Old Takes Over as Driver Suffers Seizure

Zachary Noble was listening to music while riding in the family minivan when he noticed that his mother was shaking at the wheel. Also, blood was coming from Kim Noble’s mouth.
Zachary, 12, said he figured it was a seizure. He’d seen it before in his mother, who has Lyme disease.
He grabbed the wheel and steered the van to the curb. Then he used his mother’s cell phone to call 911 while calming his 9-year-old sister. He also helped police locate his father, who was on his way home from work.
Zachary took it all in stride.
“He really had his act together,” Wixom, Mich., Police Chief Clarence Goodlein said.
Kim Noble was treated at a hospital and released.
