City Atty. Rocky Delgadillo appointed Studio City attorney David Fleming to the city Ethics Commission on Friday, a move widely seen as a challenge to the mayor.
Fleming, a former Fire Commission president who supported James K. Hahn during the mayoral campaign, had expressed disappointment when Hahn did not reappoint him to the Fire Commission.
Delgadillo said simply that Fleming would be “an invaluable asset” on the Ethics Commission.
The nomination must be approved by the City Council.
