World Recalling Skateboard Helmets
A Huntington Beach company is recalling about 10,000 skateboard helmets after they failed to pass impact tests.
No head injuries have been reported, but riders were not adequately protected.
The helmets, which were imported by World Industries Inc., were sold in retail outlets and catalogs from October 2000 to May 2001 for about $40. They feature labels inside reading “Certified CPSC 16CFR1203,” “Warning This Helmet is Not for Motor Vehicle” and “Made in China.”
Consumers should return the helmets to stores where they were purchased for a refund.
