UCLA, which reached the NCAA women’s soccer title game last season, was picked as the Pacific 10 preseason favorite in a vote among conference coaches.
The Bruins got eight of 10 first-place votes. USC was selected to finish fifth.
The UCLA men’s soccer team was picked to finish second behind Washington.
