* Cendant Corp said it expects to earn 21 cents a share in the fourth quarter, topping analysts’ estimates of 19 cents, after it cut costs.
* TBWA/Chiat/Day has appointed Robert LePlae president of its Los Angeles office. LePlae, 41, succeeds Tom Carroll, who has moved to the advertising agency’s New York office, where he serves as president of American operations for TBWA Worldwide, the agency’s parent company. LePlae previously was based in Tokyo, where he served as president and chief executive of G1Worldwide, a joint venture operated by TBWA Worldwide and Hakuhodo.
