Allen Makes Commitment to Yale

Ryan Allen, an All-Mission League kicker from Notre Dame High, has committed to Yale.

* Kevin Crane, a wide receiver who was one of the top players on Crespi’s unbeaten freshman team two seasons ago, has enrolled at the Encino campus after playing for Granada Hills’ freshman-sophomore team last season.

TENNIS

* Roger Federer of Switzerland defeated Bob Bryan of Camarillo, 7-6 (1), 6-3, in the second round of the $500,000 Marseille Open indoor hard-court tournament Thursday in Marseille, France.

GOLF

* Sam Williamson of Ojai Valley Inn and Spa finished second Tuesday in the Golf Course Superintendents Assn. of America National Championship at Canyon Springs Golf Club in San Antonio, Texas.

Williamson shot 72-74--146 and was one stroke behind Mitch Clodfelter of Cowans Ford Country Club in Stanley, N.C.
