New Year’s Day Closures

The following schedules are in effect today, New Year’s Day:
MAIL: All post offices are closed and no mail will be delivered.
BANKS: Banks and savings and loan institutions are closed.
COURTS: All courts are closed.
SCHOOLS: There will be no classes at most public elementary and secondary schools through Jan. 8. Year-round schools will reopen Tuesday.
LIBRARIES: Los Angeles city and county libraries are closed.
GOVERNMENT: All federal, state, county and municipal offices are closed.
TRANSPORTATION: Buses will follow Sunday schedules; Metrolink trains will not run.
TRASH: In the city of Los Angeles, trash pickup will be delayed one day this week.
