Servite 66, Whittier Christian 34--Billy Burfeind had 14 points, Sebastian Zielonka had 10 and Travis Ferracioli had 10 rebounds for host Servite (8-8), which led, 24-5, after the first eight minutes.
Tim Albeanu had 13 points and Bret Johnson scored 11 for Whittier Christian (1-13).
University 86, Irvine 81 (OT)--Irvine, trailing by 10 entering the fourth quarter, went on a 21-6 run to go up 65-60 before University (8-6) rallied to tie score, 70-70, and send it to overtime.
Bobby Gomez and Jason Garey each scored five points in overtime, with Gomez’s late three-pointer putting the Trojans up for good. Gomez finished with 25 points and Garey 19. Gomez and Garey each made four three-pointers.
David Cox scored 28 points, Jorian Guinn had 16 and Kevin Johnson scored nine of his 11 points in the fourth quarter for Irvine (9-7).
