Name Change for Kaufman & Broad

Kaufman & Broad, one of the top U.S. home builders, has changed its name to KB Home. The 44-year-old Westwood-based company, which specializes in entry-level and move-up homes, adopted the moniker after a customer survey found stronger identification with the shortened name. KB Home built about 23,000 new homes in the U.S. and France in fiscal 2000, and reported record earnings of $210 million during the same period.
