FRESNO, Calif. — A 16-year-old boy was cited by police after crashing his pickup through Fresno County Dist. Atty. Ed Hunt’s back-yard fence and into his swimming pool.
The youth ran home and changed clothes after crawling out of the pool but was later picked up by police a few blocks from Hunt’s home. He was cited on charges of drunken driving and hit-and-run, and then released to his parents.
The boy’s name is being withheld because he’s under 18.
Hunt said he was asleep when the 10:30 p.m. crash occurred. His wife, Linda, woke him with the news.
Hunt went outside and saw the 2000 Chevrolet pickup nose-down in the pool. It had knocked down a light pole before slamming through the fence behind Hunt’s home. Paramedics arrived and saw that nobody was inside the vehicle.
