Four close relatives of Vladimiro Montesinos and four retired army generals with close ties to the fugitive former spy chief were arrested on corruption and other charges, Peruvian authorities said. Police said Montesinos’ daughter, sister, brother and sister-in-law are being held along with the four retired generals--including former Interior Minister and Army Gen. Walter Chacon. Authorities said they were taken into custody in a surprise raid. Chacon was arrested on suspicion of corruption and obstructing justice, a court statement said. Montesinos is wanted on charges ranging from money laundering and influence peddling to illegal arms dealings.
