Divers Search for Man Who Vanished Off Coast

Divers continued searching Thursday for a Costa Mesa man who disappeared in the ocean off Laguna Beach on the Fourth of July.
Authorities said Donald Jason Huntress, 33, was with friends in an 18-foot boat about 200 yards off shore in Emerald Bay when he dived into the water about 3:15 p.m. He reportedly surfaced briefly, then disappeared.
An Orange County Sheriff’s Department news release said the divers are conducting a grid-type search for Huntress, moving outward from where the boat was anchored.
