Boy Held in Death of Girlfriend, 14

A 16-year-old boy who allegedly gave his 14-year-old girlfriend the drug ecstasy before having sex with her was arrested Wednesday night after the girl died, police said.
Paramedics went to a residence about 9:30 p.m. in response to a call that a person had stopped breathing, said Sgt. Ronald Strand.
The girl was pronounced dead about 11 p.m. at Women’s Hospital in Los Angeles, Strand said. Police would not release the names of the two minors.
The boy, who could face charges of first-degree murder, rape and administering a controlled substance, was booked at Juvenile Hall.
