AMC Reports Record Revenue, Narrower Loss

AMC Entertainment Inc., the biggest U.S. movie theater chain by revenue, said its fiscal first-quarter loss narrowed to $11.9 million on record quarterly revenue. The loss for the period ended June 30 was 61 cents a share, compared with a year-earlier loss of $26.9 million, or $1.15.
Revenue at the Kansas City, Mo.-based company rose 6.3% to $309.5 million from $291.2 million. AMC shares rose 69 cents to $14.04. They’ve more than tripled this year.
The company announced its financial results after the close of trading.
