Hurdler-Long Jumper to Attend UCLA

Dana Bethel of Mission Viejo High, a four-time state finalist in both the 100-meter hurdles and long jump, will attend UCLA, she said Tuesday.
Bethel, The Times’ Orange County track and field athlete of the year as a sophomore, chose UCLA over South Carolina, citing the chance to stay in California and work with Bruin assistant coach Al Joyner, a former Olympic gold medalist.
