The Coalition to End Domestic and Sexual Violence is accepting volunteers for its fall training session, which runs from Sept. 10 through Oct. 27.
The volunteers provide support and assistance to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault in east Ventura County. They work at a battered women’s shelter and answer calls on a crisis hotline.
Volunteers must complete an 80-hour training course to become certified crisis counselors, and fingerprinting is required. Bilingual applicants are encouraged.
