Confection Perfection

My mouth watered as I read about Gwen Romagnoli’s gastronomic tour in Buenos Aires (“Argentina’s Mecca for Meat Eaters,” July 15).
Having grown up in that beautiful city, I could almost taste the asado de tira or empanadas, or even imagine myself in one of the little corner tables in Cafe Tortoni sipping a strong espresso.
I beg to differ, however, with her comment that Freddo ice cream is “comparable to American ice cream.” Tell me where in Southern California I can find that soft, velvety, creamy confection and its dozens and dozens of flavors, and I’ll be on my way. Mmmm ... my mouth is watering again.
