Game Show Host Stein Wants His Money

Droll game show host Ben Stein has sued the ailing Internet short-film site AtomShockwave, contending he was cheated out of $212,000 for helping develop a yet-unlaunched online quiz show.
AtomShockwave became the latest entertainment dot-com on the ropes this month when it jettisoned much of its staff.
According to the lawsuit filed this week in Los Angeles Superior Court, Stein agreed to lend his name and likeness to the project to create an interactive knowledge-based game show on the Web. Stein hosts “Win Ben Stein’s Money” on the Comedy Central cable network.
AtomShockwave and Stein agreed that Stein would be paid in stock and cash, but the company failed to pay, the suit said.
Officials at San Francisco-based AtomShockwave did not return calls for comment.
