Coroner’s officials are asking the public’s help in finding relatives of a man struck and killed by a car Monday as he walked his bicycle across a Stanton street.
The man was identified from fingerprints as Ira Leitner, 57, and he may have lived in Santa Ana for several years, Orange County Sheriff’s Deputy Cullen Ellingburgh said Thursday.
Leitner was in the crosswalk at Cerritos Avenue when he was struck about 1 a.m. by a car traveling north at 45 mph on Beach Boulevard, police said. He was taken to UC Irvine Medical Center in Orange, where he died.
Anyone with information about Leitner may call the Orange County coroner’s office at (714) 647-7410.
