City Preparing Report on Use of Pesticides
- Share via
The City Council is preparing a report on the city’s use of pesticides on public land.
That report is expected to detail any alternative methods of pest control the city uses and any it could adopt in the future. Officials are being asked to develop a method for notifying residents before pesticides are sprayed in neighborhoods.
Councilwoman Linda Parks requested the report after a constituent called to complain that city workers sprayed a pesticide on the street while children were outside playing. Parks said she would like to end the use of any toxic pesticides within the city limits.
