Trucker Faces Charges in Collision, Death of Man

Anthony Robert Saiz, 47, of Lakewood, appeared in North Orange County Superior Court in Fullerton on Friday to face charges of gross vehicular manslaughter, felony driving under the influence and driving on an expired license.
The truck driver, who tested positive for methamphetamine, set off a 12-vehicle collision when his brakes failed and he barreled through an Anaheim Hills red light. Anaheim Hills optometrist Kenneth Michael Larkin died in the March 8 crash. Saiz’s arraignment was postponed until June 1. He remains in custody with bail set at $100,000.
