Irvine’s Concordia University will expand its master of arts program in education for credentialed K-12 teachers by offering classes in Orange.
The program is designed for those who want to improve their teaching ability.
The part-time program allows teachers to complete nine units a semester while going to school two days a week.
A teacher could receive a master’s degree in one year, but most are expected to complete the courses in 18 months to two years, said Barbara Morton, dean of the school of education.
Students will take courses in classroom management, methods of teaching math and science and curriculum decisions, among others.
The classes will be given at Lutheran High School of Orange County.
