2 Suspected of Running Counterfeiting Operation

Two women were arrested Monday morning on suspicion of possessing stolen property and conducting a major counterfeiting operation out of a Cypress hotel.
Anna Marie Franks, 26, of Seal Beach, and Rebecca Lupe Gonzalez, 36, of Santa Ana, were arrested after police got a tip.
Officers found both women in a room with several hundred stolen checks and driver’s licenses, among other items. Preliminary investigation showed that the checks were stolen from mailboxes across Southern California, Sgt. Steven Ramsey said.
