An LAPD officer critically wounded a man he feared was about to shoot him Thursday evening, police said.
At 5:45 p.m., two officers spotted a man with a gun and his unarmed companion near Adams Boulevard and Raymond Avenue, said Officer Jason Lee.
One of the officers, who said he believed the gunman was about to fire, shot the man in the upper body, Lee said.
The man, whose name was not released, is in critical but stable condition.
His companion, who ran from the scene, was arrested. He was carrying the other man’s gun, Lee said.
“The two men matched the description of two robbers who held up a business a few blocks away,” Lee said.
