Mother in Car Strikes, Kills Baby in Driveway

A Lake View Terrace mother fatally injured her 7-month-old baby Saturday after the woman’s car lunged forward in the driveway of her home and crashed into the child, authorities said.
“She was attempting to move her car closer to the shade to wash it when it lunged and hit the toddler, who was sitting in a baby swing in the driveway,” said Los Angeles police Officer Bryce Verna.
The mother, whose name was not immediately released, was not charged with a crime, police said.
