Re “Errant Bomb Hits Housing Row in Kabul,” Oct. 14: So, some people are being killed by our bombings? Well, let me know when the count gets up to over 5,000--then I might start feeling sorry for them. Or maybe not.

It has astounded me to see the bombed buildings in Kabul via photos and video, buildings that were bombed years ago. Since the Taliban took over Afghanistan in 1996, why was nothing done to rebuild this city, for the good of the people it claims it wants to help?
