The Kuwait Red Crescent will donate $500,000 to the U.S. Red Cross to support families of victims in last Tuesday’s attacks in New York and Washington.
“This donation comes within the framework of the Kuwait Red Crescent’s role to help peoples of the world face a catastrophe or danger,” Secretary-General Samiha Fulaih told the official Kuwait News Agency.
Kuwait, which strongly condemned the attacks with hijacked passenger aircraft, often expresses gratitude for U.S. help in freeing the emirate from Iraqi occupation during the 1991 Persian Gulf War.
