Time for Another Word’s-Eye View?

When it comes to Chick Hearn’s possible comeback to Laker TV, let’s call it right: Give it up.

Here’s to keeping Paul Sunderland as the permanent Laker TV guy. He’s quick, accurate, current, melodic--simply a terrific talent.

If Sunderland has a flaw, it’s the score. He rarely gives it. No big deal on TV, but on radio it’s maddening.

So here’s a compromise: Bring Chick back to Laker radio only. He’s a stickler on the score, which when you’re driving is the main event.

Then if TV viewers want their familiar pal, they can turn down Sunderland’s sound and flip on the radio.
