Killer Who Took Corpse to Motel Is Executed

A man who killed his girlfriend, then checked into a motel with her body for two days, was put to death by injection in Huntsville.
Jose Santellan, 40, killed Yolanda Garza, 31, on Aug. 22, 1993, in the parking lot of the Fredericksburg hospital where she was a nurse.
Santellan put her body in his car and drove to Camp Wood, 80 miles away, where he checked into a motel, taking her in with him.
Santellan was the seventh person executed this year in Texas.
