Woodland Hills West Eliminated in Legion

Woodland Hills West, made up of players from El Camino Real High, defeated Utah, 8-1, on Saturday in its final game in the American Legion Baseball Western Regional (ages 16-18) at Las Vegas. Jesse Michel, Christian Harriot and Chris Scott each drove in a run and Utah committed six errors.
Woodland Hills finished 1-2 in pool play, with a 9-6 loss to Las Vegas Cimmeron on Friday and a 10-5 loss to Honolulu on Thursday. Michel drove in three runs with a single and sacrifice fly as Woodland Hills built a 5-4 lead against Cimmeron. Honolulu trailed 5-3 but scored twice in the seventh and five times in the eighth inning for the victory. Eric Boranian and Chad Boyd each had three hits for Woodland Hills.
