Tax Cuts Will Backfire

Re “More Tax Cuts on Bush Agenda,” Dec. 1: It seems that President Bush can’t get his stories straight. From one side of his mouth he says there’s enough money to give more tax breaks to the richest in the nation. Yet, speaking from the other side, he’s cutting the pay raises of federal employees because there’s not enough money. Well, Mr. Bush, you had better take care of your wealthy friends while you can because, I guarantee you, federal employees and retirees will remember this slight in 2004, and you’ll end up just like your old man, a one-term president.
