The pristine jewel that is Dominica

I thoroughly enjoyed “On the Wild Side of Life in Dominica” (Dec. 15). I have visited 17 Caribbean islands, and I feel Dominica is an untouched jewel. I hope that not many people discover this wonderful place. It was fascinating to see a destination that is not on many tourist lists.
I wish writer Barbara Noe had written more on the Carib Indians. Dominica is one of their last Caribbean strongholds. We enjoyed seeing where they lived and brought home one of the beautiful baskets they make.
Any ride you hire to take you on a tour is really an experience -- kind of like being in the Le Mans auto race.
