WASHINGTON — Vice President Dick Cheney will undergo a routine exam Friday to check the condition of a high-tech pacemaker that was placed in his chest in June.
Spokeswoman Mary Matalin called it a “routine, semiannual cardiovascular checkup to include a physical exam, an EKG, an echo cardiogram and a stress test.”
Cheney, who has had four heart attacks, plans to make a rigorous nine-country trip to Europe and the Middle East in March.
