From Times Staff Reports
The general manager of Santa Margarita Water District now may authorize emergency sewer- or water-system repairs costing more than $25,000. He had been restricted to approving repairs that cost less.
The district’s trustees approved the policy change Feb. 27. Emergencies could include broken water mains or sewer lines.
The water district serves about 110,000 people in Mission Viejo, Rancho Santa Margarita, Coto de Caza, Las Flores and inland southern Orange County.
