A 5-year-old riding in the back seat of his family’s car was being treated for major head injuries Sunday after a collision with a van at an Anaheim intersection.
The boy was sitting behind his father, Fai Nip Leung, 47, when the accident occurred about 3:30 p.m. at Anaheim Boulevard and Santa Ana Street, authorities said. He was taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange and was listed in critical condition late Sunday.
Leung, of Anaheim, was westbound in his Geo Prizm on Santa Ana Street when a Chevrolet van traveling north on Anaheim Boulevard slammed into the driver’s side, said Anaheim Police Sgt. Rick Martinez. Leung and his other sons, ages 7 and 10, were treated at hospitals for moderate injuries.
Van driver Rosa Casas, 42, of Anaheim was not injured.
Witnesses are asked to call investigators at (714) 765-1835 or (714) 765-1861.
