Forest Closures Send Hunters to Los Padres

Closure of three national forests in Southern California because of the fire danger has diverted deer hunters to Los Padres National Forest. But that could change too.
If a major wildfire erupts or Santa Ana winds develop, Los Padres could also be closed, U.S. Forest officials said.
For now, hunters from as far as San Bernardino County are traveling to Los Padres in search of deer. Forest spokeswoman Kathy Good said officials doubled the number of field employees last weekend to 50.
