Goffredo Commits to Harvard

Jimmy Goffredo, an All-Pacific League guard who averaged 22.7 points at Crescenta Valley High last season, has committed to Harvard.
Goffredo has a 4.6 grade-point average and scored 1,340 on the SAT.
“I’m proud of him,” said his father, John, a former Crescenta Valley basketball coach. “He’s never had a B, ever.”
Steve Klosterman of Huntington Beach Marina, considered the No. 1 boys’ volleyball prospect in the nation, is scheduled to visit UCLA this weekend. He’s down to the Bruins, Pepperdine and Long Beach State.
Receiver B.J. Vickers of Venice visited Oregon last weekend. He took unofficial trips to Michigan State, Washington and Washington State during the summer and plans a trip to Tennessee.
Guard Ashley Voisinet of Santa Ana Mater Dei has committed to San Diego. She averaged 11.5 points last season.
Ariel Adams, a 6-foot-1 senior center who played last season at Cerritos and is now at Fullerton Troy, has committed to Cal State Fullerton.
Jeff Stimpson, a pitcher at Redondo who went 8-2 last season, has committed to Stanford.
Fullerton Rosary’s Darcie McClelland, the Serra League’s pitcher of the year last season, has committed to Brown.
Kiel McClung, a soccer player who scored 33 goals for Quartz Hill last season, has committed to UCLA.
Jordan Farmar, a junior guard at Woodland Hills Taft, is taking an unofficial recruiting trip to Gonzaga this weekend.
Golfer Jenni Tangtiphaiboontana of Long Beach Wilson, runner-up in the U.S. Girls Junior championship last summer, has narrowed her choices to USC, Stanford and Yale. She will take a recruiting trip to Stanford this weekend.
Brea Olinda golfer Chris Heintz, a two-time U.S. junior amateur qualifier, has committed to UCLA.
