Oceangoing Public

I believe that the beaches on the California coastline should belong to the public (editorial, Aug. 28). I believe that even if you have beachfront property you should not get your own strip of beach; this would mean that because I have property in an urban neighborhood, it entitles me to my own private sidewalk. The bill to accept the access ways should be passed, but instead of letting the taxpayers handle the responsibilities, let the beachfront property owners pay.
