Two Killed in Kashmir as Campaign Continues

Two people were killed and 20 injured in the Indian-held portion of Kashmir as campaigning began for the second phase of legislative elections despite rebel threats against voters.
After Monday’s initial day of voting, a gunman killed a member of the opposition People’s Democratic Party in the town of Pattan. Another person died and 15 were wounded when suspected rebels threw a grenade into a market south of Srinagar. A grenade thrown into the Congress Party office in Srinagar wounded three.
In addition, gunmen stormed into the home of the editor of the popular Srinagar Times, wounding him and his guard.
