“A 1999 Michel Magnien Gevrey-Chambertin. We were doing a comparative tasting of Pinot Noirs, and it struck me as being really flavorful. It had a sweet vanilla spice, plum cherry flavors and the tannins were fine. The mouth-feel was generous--it didn’t beat your mouth up. The balances were nice and elegant.”
