South El Monte’s assistant city manager was arrested on suspicion of soliciting a female officer for sex, authorities said.
Joseph Alvarado, 33, of Monterey Park was driving a city-owned car when arrested in El Monte on July 31, said El Monte Police Det. Ralph Batres.
Alvarado allegedly offered an undercover officer $40 for sex. He was booked and released, and is set to be arraigned Oct. 1, Batres said. Neither Alvarado nor South El Monte officials could be reached for comment Friday.
