Father Held in Alleged Kidnapping of Boy, 8

An 8-year-old boy was safe and his father under arrest after allegedly abducting him in a stolen car Saturday in Westminster, a police lieutenant said.
John Skelton, 27, kidnapped his son about 2:30 p.m. from a play area outside the mother’s apartment in Orange, said Lt. John Higley of the Orange Police Department.
Skelton was booked into Orange County Jail on suspicion of child abduction, outstanding parole violations, auto theft and possession of narcotics, he said.
