Abercrombie & Fitch Net Income Rises 17%

Abercrombie & Fitch Co., a casual-clothing retailer, said its fiscal fourth-quarter profit rose 17% as it sold more shirts and jeans and reduced costs.
The company’s net income rose to $92.8 million, or 93 cents a share, from $79.2 million, or 78 cents, a year earlier. Sales rose 15% to $534.5 million from $466.6 million.
The New Albany, Ohio-based firm’s shares rose 84 cents to $27.82 on the NYSE. The news was released after regular U.S. trading closed.
