This Time It Counts? Thanks a Lot, Bud

If home-field advantage in the World Series is to be decided by the All-Star game, then shouldn’t each league be allowed to pick the best team they can?
Why are the starters the people the fans want to see? Don’t most fans just vote for hometown favorites. Why don’t the Yankees want to vote? Are they miffed that Joe Torre can’t pack the team with undeserving teammates? Why does every team have to send someone? Is this baseball’s version of politically correct? Is this any way to pick your best team? No, it isn’t.
Of course, the game should have no bearing on the World Series. But the best teams should be picked anyway. The current system doesn’t do it.
